The audit — Steadwell

01The audit

We watch the work, time it, and write it down.

One to three days on site. Every pain point logged, timed by hand, and given one of three verdicts. Free, and yours to keep.

An operations audit, not a financial one. Steadwell is not a CPA firm, this is not an audit of financial statements, and it is not an attestation or assurance engagement under any accounting standard.

02What we watch for

Six shapes of wasted hour.

Nearly every finding in every report is one of these six. Once you can name them, you start seeing them yourself.

03The verdicts

Three verdicts. One meaning each.

No scores, no maturity levels, no traffic lights that mean whatever you want them to mean.

A report of all nos is a valid report. We would hand it over for nothing, and the owner would still learn where the week went.

04Anatomy of a finding

Every finding is built the same way.

Six parts, in the same order, on every page of every report. Nothing is buried in prose.

1 F-014 Order intake · front desk
2

Phone orders are re-keyed into the invoicing system by hand.

3 6.5 hours per week, timed on site
4 Yes — automate the verdict, with reasoning
5

The order arrives as speech, gets written on paper, then typed again. Two of the three steps are copying — the part a machine is reliably good at. A person still confirms the price.

05What it costs

The audit is free. The build is not.

There is no rate card, because there is no standard job. Every figure comes out of your own measured hours and is agreed in writing before anything is built.

The audit $0

If the build cannot pay for itself out of the hours we measured, we say so and it does not get proposed. That test is run on every finding, in front of you.

06Scope

What an audit is not.

Said plainly, so nobody books three days expecting a different service.
